Conduit

Innovations and Technology

Conduit is a proprietary collection of laminates and coatings created by Mountain Hardwear. Allows for flexibility during the design process.

The combination of the laminate, the coating and the fabric itself directly affects a garment's breathability, waterproofness and durability.

Conduit contains a mix of hydrophilic (water loving) and hydrophobic (water resistant) materials that pull water vapor molecules through the waterproof barrier but keeps liquid water from penetrating the exterior.

The positive pressure found inside your garmet (where it is generally hotter), forces water vapor out through the molecules of the membrane to the outside (where it is colder).

This breathability prevents moisture vapor from condensing onto your body, keeping you drier and more comfortable.
