Innovations and Technology
MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR DESIGN CONCEPT
Create compressible, reliable, affordable sleeping bags that maintain loft and warmth while using the latest advances in fill and our patented Lamina construction technology.
•UltraLamina and Lamina Bags with Thermic Micro™
LAMINA CONSTRUCTION: WELDED SEAMS INCREASE LOFT
Maximizing loft is the true measure of synthetic sleeping bag design. Over time, all synthetic bags gradually lose loft due to stuff sack compression and general wear and tear. designing a synthetic sleeping bag that would retain loft – and warmth – over the long haul be- came our engineering challenge, and our welded Lamina construction was born.
WHY WELD?
Welding stabilizes fill without sewing through the bag and pinching the insulation, thereby maximizing warmth and loft. Offset welds on the top and bottom of the bag increase fill stability. sewn seams pinch through the bag and can compress the insulation. sewing a bag often requires more fill to compensate for cold spots, thereby increasing bag weight.
